Let us all be brave
â
Let us all be brave enough to die the death of a martyr, but let no one lust for martyrdom.
â
Meaning
This quote means courage in sacrifice is admirable, but one should not seek suffering or death for its own sake. Bravery should be guided by purpose, not by a desire for martyrdom itself.
